Friends of Natural Gas NY has been invited by the Carlisle town board to give a presentation at the town's next regular meeting, Wednesday, March 7.
The meeting begins at 7pm and the presentation is expected to begin at about 7:15pm, said Supervisor Larry Bradt.
"We're just looking for more information-the more the better," Mr. Bradt said.
"We've said all along we want to hear both sides of things like hydrofracking. This is a way to do that."
In 2011, Carlisle hosted presentations by Schoharie Valley Watch, which opposes fracking, and attorney Joe Heath and former leaseholder Mike Bosetti from Central New York on breaking natural gas leases.
According to its website, Friends of Natural Gas is an alliance of New Yorkers who "support the development of clean, abundant natural gas.
"We recognize the importance of using this domestic energy source deep beneath the Empire State for a cleaner future and a brighter economy for New York and believe it can be both safe for our environment and healthy for our economic future."
Mr. Bradt said the March 7 meeting is open to the public; he hopes safety will be among the issues Friends of Natural Gas addresses.
He said there will be time for questions and answers and he expects the meeting to be respectful
The Carlisle Town Hall is located at 541 Crommie Road.
