On Thursday the Schoharie County Democratic Committee met and endorsed Paul Tonko as their candidate for the 21st Congressional District race.
Mr. Tonko represented Schoharie County for many years as a member of the New York State Assembly.
Mr. Tonko officially announced his candidacy on May 20, to an overflowing crowd of supporters at the Albany Labor Temple.
The high cost of food, gas, college tuition, and property taxes were some of the reasons he cited for his decision to enter the race for Congress.
Kevin Neary of Richmondville and Linda Cross of Carlisle are his Schoharie County Campaign coordinators.
