Following a half-hour executive session Wednesday, Middleburgh Central School named Robyn Bhend as business manager Wednesday, effective November 14.
Ms. Bhend replaces Frances Rielly, who resigned abruptly on September 28—after pleas from teachers and staff that the school board refuse to accept or table his resignation, arguing that he was doing a “wonderful job.”
At that meeting, the school board went into a 45-minute executive session to discuss Mr. Rielly’s resignation, effective November 5, coming out to accept it without comment.
Ms. Bhend has worked as treasurer or business manager for several area schools and mostly recently as school business manager for Otsego Northern Catskills BOCES.
MCS is also working with a new superintendent.
Mark Place, a former superintendent for Milford Central School, joined MCS on August 1.
Mr. Place replaced Brian Dunn, who left at the end of June to become superintendent of the Pine Bush Central School District after four years in Middleburgh.
