Kayak aces, triathlon in Middleburgh Saturday-Sunday

4/17/2018

It will be wet for some and, hopefully, warm for most, when the Middleburgh Rotary kicks off the 2018 Sloughter Canoe/Kayak Regatta & Triathlon Weekend this Saturday and Sunday.
Registration for either day—or both—is available both days of the two-day event or online at Middleburghrotaryny.org.
The Middleburgh Sloughter Canoe/Kayak Regatta will kick off the fun Saturday at 11am at the Fultonham parking area on Route 30.
Paddlers will travel the Schoharie Creek to the Timothy Murphy Park at the Middleburgh Bridge, a 5.6 mile course.
There are divisions for ages, men, women, students, and teams; on-site registration begins at 9:30am at the Fultonham start.
Following the race, the Lousy Sloughters will provide music at the park and refreshments will be available.
Then, on Sunday, the real athletes will come out for the Middleburgh Triathlon Run/Bike/Kayak, five miles, 10 miles, and six miles respectively.
The triathlon begins at Timothy Murphy Park at 11am with registration at 9:30am and travels to the Fultonham parking area and back.
Proceeds from the two-day event will benefit the Center for Donation and Transplant New York-Vermont in memory of Kayla Urrey.
